Looking for a simple way to keep valuables out of sight in your vehicle? This headrest safe replaces your existing headrest with secure, hidden storage that installs quickly and keeps everything protected without taking up extra console space.
When you're making short stops, travel breaks, or running into places where carrying valuables isn't practical, the usual storage spots can leave you wondering what someone would check first. This safe replaces an existing headrest with hidden storage, using automotive-grade components and a light gray leatherette exterior that blends with the interior instead of looking like a hard lockbox. You can secure a full-size pistol, cash, passports, medications, jewelry, or electronics in a low-profile spot that doesn't use console space, then get back in the vehicle and know exactly where your items are.
A long day in and out of the vehicle calls for access that doesn't depend on one entry method working perfectly every time. The biometric locking system gives you fingerprint access, and the steel locking system includes keypad and hard key override access for backup. The biometric system runs on two AAA batteries (not included), so you have multiple ways to open the safe and retrieve what you stored before heading to the next stop.
A loose storage box can slide, get moved, or turn into the first thing someone notices once they look inside the cabin. The seat-locking mechanism secures the safe to the seat, and the heavy-duty steel construction uses an 18-gauge body with a 16-gauge door around the storage compartment. Once installed on the passenger seat, the safe has a fixed location the driver can reach from the front seat, and stored items go back into the same secured spot each time.
When the goal is short-term storage, the compartment needs to fit the item you brought without turning the front cabin into a catch-all. The safe has 6" tall x 3-1/2" wide x 8-1/2" long interior dimensions and can hold a full-size pistol, with padded interior lining to reduce movement and rattling during travel. Your firearm or smaller valuables sit in a defined padded space, and the rest of the cabin stays free of loose items while you drive.
Replacing only one headrest can make the front seats look mismatched, which can draw the eye even when the storage itself is meant to stay subtle. The bundle includes a companion headrest to match the driver seat. The front seats continue to look like they belong together, and the storage location draws less attention when someone looks through the windows.

Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer. Today we are gonna be taking a look at the Headrest Safe Vulcan and how it works and what you can put inside of it. So let's take a closer look at it. Now there are gonna be a lot of different styles of safes you can put in your car and they all do a good job, but it usually falls short somewhere. So if you have one that's hidden somewhere, does a really good job at locking too. The issue with that is it's kind of hard to reach or access when you really need to.
And the ones that are more out in the open, a lot of other people can see that as well. Whereas something like this, this is gonna be hidden in plain sight and easy to grab if you need to. You can also get it in different colors, different materials, and different styles. So one we're gonna be focusing on today though, is gonna be the Vulcan, but you can get it in a compact version for a smaller vehicle, and you can get it in the slide out version. So if you ever wanna take out the safe completely to bring it inside, you can do that.
But again, we're focusing on this one today. Now this is primarily gonna be used for your handguns, even a full size one, but you can put other belongings in there too, like your phone and wallet, maybe some jewelry. And why I like this is, I'm someone who might wanna go out for a jog, throwing it in the safe here is gonna go a long way, especially since I don't like to carry that stuff with me. But before I focus on the inner contents of the safe, I'm gonna go over the ways you can lock it up. There's gonna be three different ways of unlocking it.
Now the first way is gonna be the quickest and easiest to do, and that's gonna be with this biometric scanner. There's a little circle down here, you press it and it'll unlock. Now it didn't unlock me because it has someone else's fingerprint in here and they get this whole process set up. This is gonna come with this set of instructions here. I do recommend using that because it is very specific when it comes to the sequencing, they get this all set up.
But first, you'll have to have that fingerprint set up and then you can go over to the code. You can pick your own code, which I do like a lot about this. And once you have that all set up, it doesn't take any time, just turn that knob at the very top and you can open it up. Now I will say, if let's say your battery dies on here, you can quickly charge that up just for those emergency situations with this USB port up at the very top of it. But it's not a full-time solution. If your batteries are dead consistently all the time, that's not gonna work for the long run. So if you do lose access to this, what you can do is actually remove this knob here and use your keys. And the way that's actually gonna work is we're gonna have the Allen key on here. I've already loosened them up. It's a little bit awkward to reach. You can tell I gotta kind of get out there at an angle on either side. And then this knob comes right off, removing that key hole. And you are gonna get two keys and you can open that up. Now something else I do like about this style, you won't be able to take out the key, so you won't be able to forget it. So once you're done with it, then you can remove it. But what's also nice about this style is, we're gonna have this little knob here at the very top. And what that does is it actually is a magnet that holds this door up so you don't have to worry about it accidentally falling down when you're hitting some bumpy roads. But with the outside pretty much done, lastly, take a closer look at the inside. So you're gonna notice, we have some fairly thick padding inside of here. Nice if you have anything a little bit more delicate, if you are throwing jewelry in here or you don't wanna crack through your screen on your phone, great for that. Now at the very back of it, you're gonna notice there's a couple slots, and that one in the center is gonna be for your handgun. So it'll help you keep it in place. Now I have heard of some smaller ones being a little bit loose in here, but what some people have done is they've kind of put it in at a little bit of an angle to kind of wedge it in there. And that's what's nice about this spongy wall is, it really grabs onto that handgun fairly nicely. There's gonna be two smaller holds right behind it or underneath it. And what those are gonna be for are to be for your magazines. And on the back of the door, we are gonna have where we insert our batteries and you will have to replace them at one point. It is gonna use some AAA batteries. Now earlier, I mentioned that there is gonna be that USB port right here. Again, you are just gonna be using this in those emergency scenarios, or just kind of get you in between replacing the AAAs on the back of here. And to open this up, you're just gonna need a Phillips head screwdriver to move that door. And the installation of it is really quick and easy to do. Now we do have more in-depth ones of vehicle for everyone because that process of initially putting this on will be a little bit different and we'll have different shims so you can actually get it to match your holes. But once you are initially putting this on, you do have the option of using an anchor point. That's just gonna go into the bottom of one of these legs. The way that works is it's gonna have two poles on there and once it reaches the bottom, it's gonna expand those so you can't pull it back out. And then when you're ready, just grab these legs and push it into place. And you also gonna get two head rusts that come with this kit. So we're gonna have the safe one on the passenger side and on the driver's side, we're gonna have a dummy one just so you can have a matching set so it doesn't look weird. I will say, the one with the safe does feel a little bit more stiff. You're gonna feel not as much padding behind your head, but I will say, this has been safety tested so you don't have to worry about getting hurt. And that's pretty much it. Now, if you're looking for another safe for the interior of your truck and you want the option to also take that safe with you and its contents inside wherever you're going, then again, check out the slide out version of this. But if this is just gonna be living inside your vehicle full time, then I think this is gonna be one of the best safes out there to be hidden, keep you safe, and just be easy to reach whenever you do need it. But again, I'm Matt, and thanks for watching.

item was easy to install. It was also easy to program the biometric reader and number pad. It looks great and is easy to operate
This headrest safe is a great idea! The spacing between the 2 stems is adjustable so that they can fit into any car's seatback. They come with various sizes of plastic sleeves to slide over the new headrest stems so the new 3/8 inch diameter stems can fill the holes on the seatback snugly. But the whole headrest can be pulled out just like the old one could. That contradicts what the website claimed, that the headrest safe would be "locked in place."
